about

A 4-track EP with studio versions of some of our songs we made in our Monthly Challenge.
In 2019, we started a challenge to write a new track each month, and make a live video of it in our studio. On this EP we reworked 4 of those tracks, and had them mixed by the amazing Wessel Oltheten.

Turn this one up to eleven!

Track Name: The Editor
I’ve spelled it out, made no mistakes
I can’t go wrong, not even when I try
It took control, had to obey
My words are changing right before my eyes

Don’t pretend you know better than…
No, don’t ever say what you think

It pulled my strings and made me lie
Then showed me words I’d never dare to say
Identities are all at stake
The dictionary doesn’t know our names

Don’t pretend you know better than…
No, don’t ever say what you think
Track Name: The Body of a Man
On that night when the stars lined up right
I decided to give you a call
I don’t care who’s right, I just thought we might
Give it another try, before we fall

But the look in your eyes came as a surprise
Now I realise there’s no way back
Years have passed by, now the boy’s traumatised
Trapped inside the body of a man

Whatcha trying to say, whatcha trying to say

He barley speaks, ‘cause talking is for the weak
Just keeps everything locked inside
Like a refugee, the boy longs to be free
But he’ll never be as long as he hides

Hiding in his room, safe in his cocoon,
He’s immune to all there is to fear
Feels like his mother’s womb, but he was born too soon
And now the crying is all we ever hear

Whatcha trying to say, whatcha trying to say to me

Though his arms look strong, his strength is gone
Can’t even lift his head
He moves his tongue, words come out wrong
I wish I’d understand
Whatcha trying to say, whatcha trying to say to me
Track Name: The Leash
Dragging you along, until the end of your song
I will run, always up front, if you can’t keep up, you’re done
Dragging you along

As long as you don’t trust me to come back when you release me
I will run, always up front, if you can’t keep up, you’re done
Dragging you along

Get off my back
Get off my back

If you don’t remove my muzzle, you will never ever solve this puzzle
Let me bark and let me howl, let me whine and let me growl

As long as you don’t feed me, understand me and believe me
I will run, always up front, if you can’t keep up, you’re done
Dragging you along

Get off my back
Get off my back
Get off my back
Get off my back

(Get off my back)
I will keep on running
(Get off my back)
I will keep on running
(Get off my back)
I will keep on dragging
Please get off my back
Track Name: The Dream Eater
Show me the world through your glasses
Pink as cotton candy clouds
Through the eyes of the masses
Worming my way through the crowd

What do you see when you look
Or is it just an empty stare
One glance, one glance is all it took
For me to see despair

Dream Eater

When you’re beneath the starry skies
And you feel at ease
I’m patiently waiting in disguise
I’m like a slumbering disease

Dream Eater

I'm coming for you at night
This broken record keeps spinning in the back of your head
